Clay Fitzgerald is a Regional Sales Manager in charge of ambulance & fire apparatus sales in Southwest Virginia and select counties of West Virginia.
Clay has an extensive experience in the Fire and EMS industry, having started his career in vehicle sales as Sales Manager at M&W Fire Apparatus in 1998, and later at Vest Sales & Service in 2006 to 2018. Clay has established a reputation as a realistic, knowledgeable consultant who is able to address the concerns of all the stakeholders. This has required an overview that encompasses mission necessities, physical practicality, manufacturing realism, budgetary constraints, time-line parameters, and quality controls.
Clay Fitzgerald began his firefighting career at age 16 as a junior member of the local rescue squad. He then joined the fire department reaching the rank of Assistant Chief with Fincastle Volunteer Fire Department, where he remains a Life Member. As a member of Fincastle VFD, Clay has received the award for Firefighter of the Year and was awarded two Highway Safety Awards for his work in preventing drunk driving. Clay also served 5 terms as President of the Botetourt County Firefighters Association.
Clay is a National Fire Academy Alumnus and considers himself blessed to be a Firefighter Cancer combatant. He belongs to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network and supports their efforts to educate others about the dangers of exposure. Clay holds numerous certifications from the State of Virginia, FEMA, FDIC, and the National Fire Academy.
Clay, his wife and their furry, four-legged friends are long-time residents of the town of Fincastle in Botetourt County, Virginia. He enjoys watching Flat Track Racing and riding motorcycles. When not working, Clay is touring the country side on his Harley Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic Firefighter Edition Cruiser, regularly riding 200-300 miles in a typical day.
